Young & Published

Since I was 8 years old, I fell in love with stories, more specifically horror stories. As I matriculated through academia, I fell in love with all types of literature. Then, I taught 7th and 8th grade English and learned the power of writing. Writing is a reflection of knowledge. It allows one to not only demonstrate expertise, but it also allows one to demonstrate skill. If a child could write, and write well, then a child would be deemed literate.

I’m not only interested in helping children learn how to write. I’m interested in them writing with a purpose. I’m interested in their creative writing and writing to help others through their experiences. I am interested in them freeing their young and heavy hearts through writing. I am interested in them developing their craft of poetry or fantasy writing.

So, I created Young & Published, a scholarship program to help recipients self-publish their writing for free. I don’t want a lack of knowledge or lack of funds to be a hindrance. They, too, deserve to share their stories, and it’s never too early to be intentional about the legacy you want to leave.
