Meet Nie Harvey
Nie Harvey is an African American speculative fiction writer who will be debuting her first sci-fi trilogy. Nie has been writing since she was 8 years old. She started off writing fictional horror stories. By the age of 12, she began writing poetry. She majored in English at Tougaloo College, where many classes made a lasting impact, such as African American Religious History and History of the Blues. Two of her favorite classes were Advanced Poetry and Special Topics in English: Black Science Fiction Writers, where she fell in love with Science Fiction and developed an admiration for Octavia Butler. Nie is also a lover of the Arts as she has studied Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Majorette dance and acting in theatrical plays from elementary to college.
Introduction to Nie Harvey
Life happened and Nie got away from who she was, the creative, so she went into hibernation. Her academic ego, Melanie Harvey-Sudduth, dominated until her entrepreneurial ego, M. P. Sudduth, was born in 2018. Now, Nie is back to take her rightful position in the trio. She refuses to squander her God-given talent as a fictional writer any longer. For “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms” (1 Peter 4:10). She is the freest of the three, allowing her imagination to dangerously run rampant. Nie has begun to spin tales involving science fiction, domestic terrorism, and African American culture as she prepares to take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Stay tuned for Part I of her first trilogy due to be released in late 2024/ early 2025.
In her free time, Nie enjoys listening to an array of music genres, watching female heroines on television, and plotting to take over the world.
